Beloved Mother, Daughter, and Friend
Marilyn Jean Schwanz-Brown
April 21, 1963 – July 17, 2020
Marilyn Jean Schwanz Brown left us to be free on July 17, 2020. Marilyn was a beloved mother, sister, and friend. She was born in Seguin, Texas, to Roland Schwanz and Mary Louise Gohlke Schwanz. She is preceded in death by her mother Mary. She is survived by her father Roland; daughter Megan and son-in-law Ben; sisters Kathy and husband Danny, Betty Oneal and husband David, Carol Blades and husband Steve; nieces and nephews Justin Oneal, Stephanie Brown, Casey Leal, and Tiffany Carter as well as Tiffany’s children Aerial, Paisley, and Tanner.
Marilyn graduated from Seguin High School in 1980/81 and later married John W Brown, Jr. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Megan Brown Sterner; Marilyn was so proud of her daughter. She loved spending time with family, camping, playing cards and dominoes, getting her mother-in-law Bea riled for sport, listening to music, bargain hunting, and was an avid reader. She was locally famous for her epic Christmas light displays.
We all remember Marilyn as a tenacious, caring, firecracker personality. Details regarding her Celebration of Life Wake will be forthcoming. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Seguin Public Library.
